JINGYUAN LIU, Phd | Principal Process Engineer - Hyrdrometallurgy
Jingyuan Liu, PhD, is a globally leading mining and processing engineer who has specific experience in the tech metals sector. Jingyuan has a PhD in chemical engineering, has published over 20 technical papers, has founded two emerging lithium companies, and has extensive operational experience internationally in Australia, China, Malaysia, Argentina and New Zealand.
Jingyuan’s key expertise is in hydrometallurgical plant including flowsheet development, process design and equipment design.
In the Vanadium sector, Jingyuan was involved extensively with the Windamurra Vanadium project in the flash drying area. This included process design, testwork, CFD project management with Drytech. Jingyuan also spent a number of years working with Metso Minerals, as an internationally recognised designer and supplier of process equipment into various hydrometallurgical operations.
Jingyuan has extensive experience in calcination, leaching and participation circuits in a multitude of commodities including Vanadium, Copper, Lithium, HPA, Lime, Magnesium Chloride Hexammoniate & Diammoniate, Zircon, Nickel, Alumina and others.
Jingyuan’s other key recent project experience includes:
R&D program, product marketing, fund raising, Project Management, BFS and Detail Engineering and Construction for Altech’s 4,000 t.p.a. High Purity Alumina(HPA) plant proposed in Johor, Malaysia and Kaolin Mine in Meckering, WA Australia (including operations of HPA and Kaolin mine).
Project Management (Owners Engineer) for Detail Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and ramping up for Galaxy’s 17,000 t.p.a. Lithium Carbonate Plant located in Jiangsu, China including management of business readiness programs and operation of plant (from study to operations and ultimate sale of the asset).
Jingyuan is the Principal Process Engineer for the design for the design of the Hydrometallurgical circuit for the St Elmo Vanadium Project.
